Working from Home (WFH): Challenges and Practicality for Construction Professional Personnel

Implementing working from home (WFH) is seen as the most effective approach to control number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections cases in Malaysia. However, when operating home, crucial problem need for existing workers transition an office home. By doing so, reliance on Internet Things (IoT) technology significantly increases are forced conduct work online. Hence, this study aims explore challenges WFH among construction professional personnel and their preferences using IoT contributing effectiveness. A questionnaire survey through Google Form was released, 65 respondents living Selangor participated survey. The data collected analysed descriptively. results revealed that experienced some key related social connectivity, emotional support sense belonging, mental physical health, fear job security during WFH. Microsoft Team Zoom main platforms always used virtual meeting. use design site monitoring still very limited. In conclusion, practical despite they experienced. To overcome challenges, improvement policy required future industry practitioners. finding helps understand Malaysia’s practitioners’ experience with progress pandemic.
